🌔 Ford Focus Mk2 Color Code

Hi guys - first post, I have a 2006 ford focus that has reached nearly 67000 miles, and has developed a fault with a warning light. it is the red cog shaped light with the '!' in the middle, which turns on as I'm driving along. It has happened 3 times now in the last 6 months, once in October, March and today, in April. The instrument cluster of the Mondeo MK4/MK4.5 and S-max/Galaxy commucates on a different speed CANbus network than the instrument cluster of the Focus MK2/Mk2.5, C-max and Kuga. The electrical connector is the same but the instrument cluster of the Mondeo MK4/MK4.5 and S-max/Galaxy is not able to communicate with the electrical modules of the On the Focus MK2 and onwards Ford uses the CODED PATS system. On this system ignition keys can only be programmed with a suitable Ford specific diagnostic system. After the diagnostic system tries to access the PATS system there will be code (OUTCODE) generated by the car. This code must be converted to a valid code (INCODE).
